Set with a drop shape old cut natural unenhanced yellow Ceylon sapphire in a open back claw setting with a weight of 1.83 carats, to an elegant solitaire design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery with a decorative motif and fancy shape open backholing, leading to raised inwardly tapering shoulders which terminate in ridged detail and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, circa 1960, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-2086.
