Set with a polished oval natural sardonyx in an open back rubover setting, to an impressive signet design featuring polished borders, a conforming gallery and open oval backholing, the intricately carved trumpeting shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 15 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'H.G' for Henry Griffith, full hallmarks for Birmingham, English, 1862.
