Victorian diamond and sapphire snake ring. Set with one cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.12 carats, further set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in a open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.20 carats, to an intertwined snake design featuring engraved detail to the heads and open backholing, leading to smooth shoulders and flowing though to a double shank. Marked 18 carat gold, makers mark 'JMML', full hallmarks for London, English, 1897.
