Victorian diamond five stone ring. Set to centre with one cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back cut-down setting with an approximate weight of 0.95 carats, flanked by four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back cut-down settings with a combined weight of 2.05 carats. The total approximate diamond is 3.00 carats, to a graduating five stone design featuring stylised claws, a polished gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to intricately carved shoulders with a tulip motif, and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1880.
