Set with one round old cutnatural unenhanced sapphire in an open backclaw setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further set with one round transitional cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.35 carats, flanked by eight round eight cutdiamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.45 carats, to an elegant crossover design featuring curving claws and polished edges, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, leading to asymmetric tapering shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shapeshank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, numbered '6773', indistinct maker's mark, circa 1940.
