Centrally set with an octagonal step cut natural unenhanced purple Madagascan sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.29 carats, to an elegant solitaire design featuring curving corner claws, a structured pierced gallery and rectangular open backholing, flanked by slightly raised shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat gold, circa 1990, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-3476.
