J. E. Caldwell cabochon emerald and diamond ballerina ring. Set to centre with a single oval cabochon natural emerald in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.75 carats, encircled by a single row of twenty tapered baguette cut diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 3.00 carats, to an undulating cluster design featuring curving claws, a geometrically pierced gallery displaying triangular motifs and open backholing, leading to split shoulders and flowing through to a solid ridged shank. Marked platinum and iridium, maker's mark 'J.E.C&Co', numbered 'X3069', American, circa 1950.
