Diamond and ruby ring. Set with a central cushion shape old cut diamond in an open backrubovermillegrain setting with a weight of 0.90 carats, further set to top and bottom with six channel set tapered french cutnaturalrubies in open back rubover millegrain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.80 carats, flanked by eight round old single cutdiamonds in open back millegrain and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.98 carats, to an elongated oval cluster with pierced gallery and backholing, and intricate scrolled engraving to the sides and conforming collet, gently flowing down to a solid tapered flat shank. Testedplatinum, circa 1915.
