Set to centre with an octagonal emerald-cutnatural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open backrubover setting with an approximate weight of 4.20 carats, flanked by six square step cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back channel settings with a combined weight of 3.00 carats. The total approximate sapphire weight is 7.20 carats, to an impressive structural cocktail ring featuring polished edges, a smooth gallery and open backholing, leading to raised trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid ridged shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, French import marks, indistinct maker's mark, circa 1940, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-3245.
