Set to centre with a oval old cutnatural unenhanced Burmese ruby in a open backgrain setting with an approximate weight of 0.40 carats, surrounded by twelve cushion shape old minediamonds in open back cut-down settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further adorned by six cushion shape old mine diamonds in closed back grain settings with an approximate weight of 0.12 carats. The total diamond weight is 0.52 carats, to a elegant coronet cluster design featuring an intricately pierced gallery, openwork shoulder with floral detailing, flowing through to a solid D-shapeshank. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1880.
