Set with a drop shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further set with a a drop shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.40 carats, further adorned with an oval old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.30 carats, surrounded by four cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.16 carats, flanked by eight cushion shape single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.70 carats, to an elegant vertical openwork cluster with curving claws, a finely pierced gallery and fancy backholing, the smoothly conforming shoulders leading through to a solid ridged flat shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, French, circa 1895, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-159.
