Ancient Roman signet ring. Set to centre with an oval garnet intaglio in a closed back rubover setting, engraved with a kneeling athlete holding a discus, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1st to 2nd century AD.

This ring is in fine condition with an attractive patina.
