Vintage Ceylon sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Centrally set with one oval old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.98 carats, further set with four marquise brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 2.20 carats, further encircled with two round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.70 carats, to a cluster design, with split claws, open structured gallery and shaped backholing, flanked by trumpeting shoulders which lead on to a solid shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'H.B', French, circa 1970, accompanied by a Laboratie Francais de Gemmologie report #339186.
